Google's Dan Morrill posts about "rumour sites"

Since October has started, rumours about Nexus devices have increased drastically but no confirmation of anything has even been given by anyone.  Well, today Google's own Dan Morrill posted on Google+ about "rumour sites" saying one thing about them.

He reacts by saying "LOL" which confirms absolutely nothing. However, don't for one second that this means nothing. What this could mean is that something is going to happen this month, I mean it's very coincidental that he posted about rumour sites the same month that a year ago the Galaxy Nexus was revealed.

What ever is happening, Dan is clearly showing that we must be pretty far off what is actually happening.

HTC One X+ made official!

Today, HTC has announced a follow up to their flagship One X device, named the One X+ it features a fast processor, bigger battery and Android 4.1 "Jelly Bean" out of the box with HTC's new version of Sense (4+). This comes a day after a leak revealed all of the specs which spoiled this smartphones unveiling for me.

The new One X+features the same 4.7-inch SuperLCD2 display with a resolution of 720x1280, powered by a faster Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor clocked at a mighty 1.7GHz (up from 1.5GHz) paired with a gig of RAM. Camera's include the original 8-megapixel rear-facing camera but the front-facing camera has been upgraded to 1.6-megapixel. 32GB or 64GB of storage is offered but can't be expanded.

Pricing is at £479.99 on PAYG from O2 in the UK, the handset should be released in time for the holiday season, contract details haven't been released as of now.

HTC One X+ discovered in O2 brochure...

The HTC One X was a great phone but evidently it didn't sell well, due to the anticipation of the Samsung Galaxy S3. HTC has been readying a plus version of the device and this device looks to have been spotted in an O2 brochure. The phone is pictured with specs and pricing.

Specs include a 4.7-inch SuperLCD display with 720p resolution (720x1280), powered by Nvidia's Tegra 3 quad-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz (up from 1.5GHz) with 1GB of RAM which will run the latest version of Android being 4.1 "Jelly Bean". Camera's include a 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.3-megapixel camera for video calls. The One X+ gets a bump up in internal storage now being 64GB whether it is expandable or not has yet to be specified.

The price for the device is £479.99 on PAYG and is said to be "coming soon", how soon we don't know but expect it in the coming months for the holiday season.

New York: HTC announces 8X...

HTC has announced the 8X at their event in New York, the Windows Phone 8 running handset features some impressive specs but nothing new.

The phone packs a 4.3-inch SuperLCD2 display with 720p resolution (720x1280), powered by Qualcomm's S4 processor clocked at 1.5GHz with 1GB of RAM which runs Windows Phone 8. Camera's include a 8-megapixel rear-facing camera paired with a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls. Internal storage is at 16GB and can be expanded by MicroSD card (up to 32GB).

Similarly, The device has been said to be available in November but no price has been given, I'd estimate a price of £290-£340.

UPDATE: The price of the handset is £399 from Unlocked Mobiles

New York: HTC announces 8S...

Today, HTC has announced a new Windows Phone 8 handset at their event in New York, the handset named the HTC 8S features relatively good specs which includes Beats audio enhancement.

Camera's on the device includes a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera but no front-facing camera. Internal storage is at 4GB but can be expanded by MicroSD card (up to 32GB).

Availability hasn't been announced yet, expect to see this device in a month or so (my estimate) for about a price of £210-£270.

HTC's phablet spotted in the wild...

A picture of possible HTC's upcoming phablet has been leaked by the good old folks at TechOrz. Weirdly, they are calling the device the "Endeavour C2" which would mean that this is the HTC One X+. Either/or, the picture looks more like a phablet shape. Looking at the screen size which looks big, being around the 5-inch mark.

The announcement of both devices may come soon to refresh HTC's one series and bring sales to the Korean company after a failing 2012 and end less lawsuits.

HTC debuts China bound One SC...

HTC has revealed a new mid-range handset for China dubbed the One SC. Being a one series phone it looks like a One X but on the back features a unique design never seen before. I have to say I like the three-tone effect.

Anyway, specs time! The device features a 4.3-inch SuperLCD display with WVGA resolution (480x800), powered by dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz with 1GB of RAM. Camera's on the device includes a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera but no front-facing camera is present. Internal storage is at 4GB and can be expanded by MicroSD card (up to 32GB). The handset runs Android 4.0 with HTC's Sense 4.0 laid over it.

Details leaked on upcoming HTC Accord (8X)...

HTC's upcoming flagship Windows Phone handset known formerly as the HTC Accord may go to market as the 8X. The details leaked (shown in image above) show the main specs of HTC's upcoming handset inc. display, processor and camera.

The specs include a 4.3-inch display possibly SuperLCD2 or SuperAMOLED with 720p resolution (720x1280), powered by a dual-core processor presumably the Snapdragon S4 clocked at a unusual 1.2GHz paired with 1GB of RAM. Camera's include a 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1080p capable front-facing camera. Internal storage is said to be 16GB without any mention of a microSD card slot.

HTC plan event for Windows Phone announcement

HTC has sent out invites for a event on September 19th in New York City. As everyone is saying, HTC is highly likely to unveil WP8 handsets following Samsung's announcement of the Activ S phone at IFA in Berlin. If this is a WP8 event, could we finally see the Zenith, Accord and Rio? We'll find out pretty soon.

HTC is making a Note...

As we previously reported, HTC is working on a Galaxy Note rival device and if this picture that has leaked is reliable, then we could be looking at the actual thing. Design wise the device looks thin, has a red "stripe" going down the side of it and overall looks to be a pretty device.

Specs were previously said to include a full HD (1080p) display which will be the first of it's kind to be featured in a phone and powered by Qualcomm's S4 processor, the specific S4 processor is unknown so the phone could include the new quad-core variant but don't get your hopes up.

HTC Accord with WP8 leaks..

HTC has been very quiet about Windows Phone 8, not even announcing any WP8 handsets at IFA which Samsung did. However by the looks of this leak, HTC has one in the works. Great thing about this leak? It is most likely accurate information.

Specs have been said to include a 4.3-inch SuperLCD2 display with 720p resolution (720x1280), Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5GHz with 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel camera, MicroSD and NFC capabilities.

So far all of the WP8 handsets leaked/announced take advantage of the new spec compatibility. So we should see WP8 being adopted by more people, I for one was put off by the lack of good specs.

HTC Endeavour C2...

After a disappointing year for HTC even with a new range of flagship devices, they just couldn't keep up and now they are loosing money big time. However, HTC could be attempting to fix that by bringing new models to the market. You may have heard of the HTC One X+ for T-Mobile, well it may not be for just T-Mobile as a device by the name of "Endeavour C2" has popped up.

The Endeavour C2 has been said to sport the same design as the current One X available but have a faster processor clock speed, bumping up from 1.5GHz to 1.7GHz. This speed difference may mean that the Endeavour C2/ HTC One X+ will be thicker due to a larger battery. I don't think they'll be any difference to screen size or the a addition of a MicroSD card slot which we'd all love.

HTC planning One V successor?

HTC may be preparing a One V successor already after the current One series has failed to get the Korean company out of financial jeopardy. The device is known as HTC "Proto" and has better specs than the One V currently offered packing a bigger screen and Snapdragon S4 processor.

All of the specs include a 4-inch WVGA (480c800) Super-LCD display, powered by a dual-core Snapdragon S4 (M8225) with 512MB of RAM clocked at 1GHz. Camera's include the typical 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and no front-facing camera. Internal storage is at 4GB and can be expanded by MicroSD (up to 32GB), battery capacity hasn't yet been said and the device will probably run Android 4.0.

All in all, a great device and depending on pricing, it may actually sell well. This device may actually be unveiled with the rumoured HTC One X+, until such day, we can only speculate.

Samsung SPH-L300 images leaked... [Updated]

Credit goes to Brief Mobile.
Looks like South Korean company Samsung is preparing a new device, reportedly destined for Sprints network in the USA. The phone features a never before seen design from Samsung, which looks almost identical to the HTC One X and One S.

The phone's displays size has not yet been confirmed, but will come with a resolution of 480x800. It will run on the Snapdragon S4 processor with 1GB of RAM clocked at 1GHz and sport a 5MP rear facing camera and LTE connectivity.

What's interesting about this phone is the fact that the buttons are etched in to the chin of the phone, making for a elegant design.

Update: The phone has passed through the FCC, meaning that the phone will be released within the next few months. Nothing extra was found out about the phone's specs though.

Powerful HTC smartphone on the horizon...

A new HTC smartphone is in the works, this has been revealed by a benchmark done on the device via. GLBenchmark. The device is Verizon bound with 4G LTE radios on board and is looking to be a successor to Verizon's HTC Rezound based on the model number the device is showing.

One thing about this device is that it is packing a 1080p (1080x1794) screen, that's right a full HD display on a smartphone, another interesting spec is the device's quad-core Snapdragon processor paired with an Adreno 320 GPU clocked at 1.5GHz. This device is going to take the market by storm but all that grunt under the hood will mainly be used to control that dense screen.

Samsung announces Galaxy Chat...

Samsung has today announced a new Android smartphone, the Galaxy Chat. The Galaxy Chat includes a physical QWERTY keyboard that is part of the actual front interface rather than sliding out from underneath the display. This isn't the first time we've seen something like this, last year HTC released the ChaCha onto the market with a similar form factor.

Some of the specs aren't confirmed as of yet but the device packs a confirmed 3-inch QVGA (240x320) display, supposedly powered by a single-core processor with presumably 512MB of RAM. Other confirmed specs include one camera which is 2-megapixels rear-facing without a flash, 4GB of internal storage that can be expanded using MicroSD card up to 32GB and Android 4.0 out of the box.

As mentioned, some of the specs aren't confirmed and are instead assumed by myself, please don't quote me on the specs that aren't confirmed as they maybe wrong. If this phone does come out, the best selling features of it will be Android 4.0 and that physical QWERTY keyboard for those physical keyboard-aholics.

HTC's WP8 roadmap leaked...

One X with WP8 start screen
With HTC, Samsung, Nokia and Huawei being the first manufacturers to bring the new version of the OS to us, we were all waiting for a sign of what these devices will feature and look like. Well, we didn't have to hold our breaths for long as TheVerge has been given HTC's road map with all of HTC's upcoming Windows Phone 8 devices and boy are we in for a treat!

The first being the One X of WP8 named the "Zenith" sporting a 4.7-inch Super LCD2 display and being powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and a 8-megapixel rear-facing camera.

The second being called the "Accord", this device will feature a 4.3-inch Super LCD2 display and will be powered by a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and again features a 8-megapixel rear-facing camera.

HTC Ville C specs leaked...

BriefMobile has been handed a spec sheet for a device called "Ville C" by a unknown source. The device is reportedly a budget variant of the HTC One S but is said to be a "ultra slim" device.

The spec list shows us he device will sport a 4.3-inch AMOLED qHD resolution screen, powered by a 1.2GHz Dual-Core Qualcomm processor with 1GB of RAM running on Android 4.0, the processor is listed as 1.7GHz but it is apparently a typo, right. The device will boast a 8MP rear-facing camera and a VGA front-facing camera. The device will house a battery with a capacity of 1,650mAh.

Chances are the looks of the device will most likely take design cues from the HTC One series, but we'll have to wait to see how slim HTC will be going with this device.
